First Church Task Force
FUMC RESPONSE TO PANDEMIC ISSUES
As you no doubt know, the current world pandemic presents a host of financial, programmatic, ministry, and mission challenges and opportunities. The situation changes rapidly. Decisions must be made quickly to respond to this ever-evolving landscape. On Saturday, March 28th the Church Council met via Zoom and, upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, delegated to a small First Church Task Force the responsibility for making the host of quick decisions and addressing the many issues that are unfolding daily in the life of the church.
TASK FORCE MEMBERS
The members of the Task Force are listed below. Each member of the Task Force will try to be responsive to all of the concerns, questions, and suggestions that members have. The members of the Task Force were chosen because they represent very different aspects of the work of the church and have demonstrated gifts of leadership, communication, and dedication to FUMC. A big thanks for this selfless work that will be required.
The Task Force met on Sunday, March 29th and began their work. The first issues to be addressed relate to trying to analyze our current financial posture and to seek any crisis benefits for which we qualify. We are hopeful that some of these measures will assist us as we give central priority to making sure that our ministries and mission continue to flourish.
We will do our best to keep you as informed as possible about developments in the work of FUMC. We welcome feedback, questions, and suggestions. Along with all of you, we must BE THE CHURCH in our time. Stay safe.
