Our Mission

"All that we do is to inspire and challenge children to know and experience God through Jesus Christ, claim and live God's promises, grow and be Christian disciples."

Children Are Welcome in Worship

We have books in the "Little Red Wagon," and activity sheets for the children to use during worship time. Our downtown church has a room located in the south corner just off the sanctuary for children who become restless during worship. The room is equiped with a rocking chair, a sofa and various children's materials to assist parents. At the Celebration Center and at the Life Worship downtown children have the opportunity to make use of several table top activities during the worship experience. There are activity sheets, books, and Bible quizzes each week.

 Children’s Church
Children who are 3 years to 3rd grade may go to a modified worship especially designed for children following the Children’s Time at our 9:30 (West) and 9:40 (Downtown) services. During Children’s Church our children will sing praise songs, share joys and concerns, learn prayers of the church and listen to a Bible Story. The children will return to worship during the last worship song.

BLAST!
At 10:30 (West) and 10:40 (Downtown), we begin BLAST! A Celebration of our Christian Faith. In age-appropriate classes, our children will connect Bible stories through activities in Art, Music, Drama, Science, Culinary, and Multi-media. Each quarter we hold a BLAST Celebration to recognize our learning and to enjoy fellowship with all of our children.

Nursery
Our nursery at both locations serves children from birth through 36 months. Our nursery workers will be happy to assist parents during worship and church events.

Other Children’s Opportunities
Special Events
Throughout the year, children’s ministry hosts workshop events to celebrate the Christian Year. All Saint’s Festival, Advent Worship, Jesus’ Birthday, Lenten Worship, Easter Celebration and
Pentecost are special times for children to learn the traditions and symbols of the church through a variety of activities.

Tween Ministry
TGS'S
If your child is in 5th or 6th grade, they are invited to attend our Tween’s Club known as TGB’s (The Glue Bottles—they stick together in good times and in bad.) The group meets on Sunday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Fellowship and discussion groups focusing on pre-youth topics are the focus of this small group opportunity.

Introduction to the Bible
Our church family presents a Bible to children in the third grade. Leading up to the Bible presentation, the children learn how to use their Bible. This is accomplished through a six week evening study which ends in our annual overnight Bible retreat.

Vacation Bible School
Each summer the church sponsors one Vacation Bible School program held at the west campus. Daytime and evening sessions are available for all children. In addition, our 4th, 5th and 6th graders may attend an afternoon session that centers on service learning.

Children’s Council
This is the planning and working group which oversees all activities for children in our church. Members include all Children’s Christian Education leaders and assistants. The group meets quarterly to plan lessons, activities, and workshops for the children in our church.

Certification Classes
Children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities shall be protected from abuse and neglect while being served in our building.
Those who work with these populations are required to be certified in “Safe and Sacred Space: An Abuse Prevention Program.” Certification classes are held on a regular basis.

Volunteers
Children’s Ministries involves many volunteers in a variety of areas. If you would like to become involved in this ministry area, please visit with a member of our church staff. We would love to have you become a part of our team.

Kids' First Preschool and Discovery Day Programs
Our church is very fortunate to have a quality preschool and parent’s day out program. Classes are held five days a week at the West Campus.
Children have the opportunity to participate in regular classroom activities such as art, music, and games as part of a Christian curriculum. If you would like more information about these programs, please contact our Kid’s First Preschool Director, Diane Karpowitz at
